While working as a town planner in Nottingham I became inspired by fine furniture making, and eventualy attended a course at Rycotewood College near Oxford in the late seventies.
I moved to the Forest of Dean about this time and established my own workshop in 1981 near Coleford, from which I still work producing hand-made bespoke furniture, made predominantly from locally sourced hardwoods.
I make an extensive range of products, from small boxes to whole room schemes, tables, chairs and cupboards etc.
I like to work with a wide range of woods, especially fruit woods, and have an expert knowledge of these timbers. I particularly like to use more than one sort of wood within a piece of furniture where this is appropriate.
I have exhibited extensively, and have work for sale in Burford Wood Craft, in the Cotswolds, and the New Leaf Gallery in Monmouth.
I am a member of the Dean Oak Cooperative and was recently one of their representatives at the International Chair Symposium at Westonburt, Gloucestershire.
